New Laptop!

Derek gave me a big surprise yesterday. I got a new laptop! My first laptop!

Apparently he put it on layaway a couple of months ago and has been waiting for his first paycheck to pick it up. He wanted me to have it for Nano, so I can write on the bus more easily.

So, even though it's an anniversary present (11 years November 22), he gave it to me early.

I was completely blown away - I had no idea he had this planned.

What a doll!

Isn't he the nicest guy ever. He picked me up at the bus station last night and we went to the Pennywhistle for supper. I saw him get the laptop bag out of the car, but I assumed it was his and he didn't want it to get stolen/cold.

Then he sets it on the table and there's a bow and a card!

He said he was counting on my bad observation skills to get it to the restaurant without me noticing. It worked!

It plays DVD's, and it'll even play AoE when I don't want to write anymore. It's 2 pounds lighter than his (I took his to work one day and complained aobut the weight)

Oh, wait, I guess that isn't making you any less jealous, is it?

On the other hand, I've wanted a laptop for years...

I love it when he surprises me. I love it best when he surprises me without the buildup ahead of time. Usually he does this thing where he pretends to be all depressed and worried about money, getting me all stressed out, then he springs a surprise on me. This time he just surprised me and watched my eyes get all big.

I love the rolly chairs at the Pennywhistle. They also have arms, which is so nice.
