BtVS Drabble Prompt: Sale

The Hyperion

The sign was old and faded. There was no point putting up a new one; no one would read it anyway.

They had tried for opulence, but they only got as far as spending too much money before it all came crashing down.

A film of grit clung to everything, but the dust wasn’t as destructive as the sheer neglect.

It was haunted by what might have been.

Pipes groaned, furniture collapsed and the wiring was unreliable at best.

Pain and misery permeated every square foot.

The papers were signed, the money changed hands…

The sign was modern and new.

Great imagery. I can see the walls crumbling.

An interesting look at the Hyperion.

Thanks. I was rereading your Man of the World, and the hotel was figuring prominently in my mental images - so I guess I should put you in the credits!

Aw, thanks! That's such a sweet thing to say. I love hearing that people are re-reading my fic.

Nicely done. You're writing has come SO far. Kudos to you.

Thank you so much. When I look back at some of my earlier writing I kind of cringe. I've got a couple of unfinished fics I should send you to see if there's anything worth salvaging or worth finishing.

Send away. It'll give me something to DO AT WORK!
