Feeling like a sucktastic ball of suck

I didn't tame the muse this week. I feel like I wasted the last 7 weeks, which is a stupid thing to feel. But apparently failing at the goals I set for myself, the goals that don't really matter in the grand scale of things makes me feel much worse than failing at all the other things I fail at, like:

housekeeping
work
friendships
eating well
losing weight

And everything else in my life.

However, now that I've learned this lesson I will... probably do the exact same thing in 7 more weeks.

Le sigh.

I respectfully must disagree with your list, especially 'friendships'. No fail here!

Aww, thanks.

Aw, chica, you are beautiful. Tomorrow is a new day.

Thank you. I'll try to write something tomorrow!

I think you are being much too hard on yourself! ::hugs::

I had cake for supper, which doesn't help with the eating healthy, but did improve my mood. :)

Everybody I know is feeling at loose ends right now.

And wait a minute, I fail at all those things too! Are you telling me I suck?

[identity profile] garnigal.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Smart ass.

I think I had this same emo moment last year just before school started too. Clearly 18 and 2/3rds years of school has ruined September for me.

My first thought was that you suffer the fall ennui. I find this time of year challenging but good, if that makes any sense. If I can actually overcome inertia, I can get a great deal done.

I am working my way through my freezer to do a major defrost. You were considering joining me in a freezer-cookathon (make big batches, freeze) at some juncture, were you not?

[identity profile] garnigal.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 12:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I managed to clean our little freezer - we had a short power outage when we went camping and there was a very thick layer of frost when we got home. I definitely need to work my way through the 'big' freezer (big meaning apartment sized, not actually big). Ashley wants to make homemade chocolates for X-mas and needs freezer space to set them up.

I'm definitely up for our usual Christmas baking extravganza, but I'm not sure what I have to contribute to a cookathon, other than a set of hands and some rather odd comments. Those are my specialty!

:( Sorry you are feeling blue. Hope you feel better soon. The muse taming will come. *sends good wishes*

P.S. Is failing at housekeeping a bad thing? I'm a perpetual failer on that count!

[identity profile] garnigal.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
I had cake for supper and that seemed to help. :)

I think if my housekeeping standards weren't trying to keep up to my mother's and grandmother's standards, I wouldn't feel so bad about the state of my house.

:: pets:: I know those days.

If it helps, I've never managed a first story to TTM, so you're way ahead of me.

[identity profile] garnigal.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
I'm bound and determined to get another ttm award before the end of the year, and I've already got the easy ones - I need 15 weeks for the next one.

From my much greater age than you, I would suggest you stop giving yourself goals to reach and just live life as it comes. Strangely enough, things then fall into their right place.

As for housekeeping, no matter how much you do, it's always the same the next day!

[identity profile] garnigal.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 12:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm such a naturally lazy person that without setting goals I'd spend my life in bed. In fact, I think I slept about 20 hours of Saturday/Sunday this weekend. It was lovely. :)

With four cats, a live-in boyfriend and a roomate, it's unfortunately not the same the next day - it's exponentially worse!

(((HUGS))) Hey, you tried, lots of us (me for example) haven't gotten that far.

[identity profile] garnigal.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 12:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose there's always next week... I did have wonderful naps on Saturday and Sunday. That wasn't a goal, but it sure was nice.

*hugs* You do NOT suck. We all have weekends where we feel like we've failed.

[identity profile] garnigal.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks. I think I'll feel better once I vacuum the house. Finding the enthusiasm for that, however...

[identity profile] garnigal.livejournal.com 2009-09-01 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks. Between hormones and September, I'm just a big old ball of emo.
