No More Punches, Just Rolling

All recovery is progressing as well as to be expected in the house of Garn.

Adam dropped Mom back off on Friday night (about 24 hours guest free) because it is much easier for me to drive 30 mins each way to get her to see Dad for the 60 mins per day she's allowed than it is for Adam or Cheryl to drive 60 mins each way. So she's here for the duration — until he gets released.

The original estimate was he'd get out today, but there's a little hole in his lung (read: doctor nicked it on the way in or out) that has to heal before he can be released. He's off oxygen though, so it is healing (1.5 cm to .8 cm so far). He's getting stronger, but still has the chest tube. Once they pull the tube, he'll be able to go home the next day.

I missed your earlier post! How worrying to have a beloved relative in the hospital for any reason, let alone an angioplasty! Your poor mother must be beside herself.

I will keep her and your dad (hell, all of you) in my prayers.

It was a little shocking, going from a day procedure of angioplasty to a triple bypass and over a week in the hospital. Mom said yesterday how glad she is she's here with us and with Genevieve to distract her instead of home alone with her thoughts.
