Pregnancy is finally getting the better of me. I totally deserve it too - I was horribly smug for the first two trimesters. :)

I've got gestational diabetes, so instead of being due on the 29th of March (and I was really figuring on going right to the end - my brother and I were both 2 weeks late), I've been told to expect to be induced 1 or 2 weeks early. Other than the shorter time before Gen arrives, I'm also bemoaning the constant pricking of my fingers for testing - 7 times a day! At least I'm not on insulin; so far it's all diet controlled.

Also, I've had pain in my left glute for a month or so now, which slows me down and makes me grumpy. It's probably sciatica, which makes me feel old, and makes me even grumpier. :)

Other than that, life ticks along as it must.

How're all of you?

I'm glad you're okay. I had a friend with gestational diabetes, and it was rough for her, although she did just fine and had a safe delivery. *hugs*

And I'm good. Busy, busy, busy, but good.

So good to hear from you!! My sister-in-law had gestational diabetes, and after she delivered, it went "poof." Gone. Hope it's the same with you.

I also hope you have an easy time of it. At least, you're not pregnant in the hot summer months. That would be miserable.

Tell Derek I said you should be pampered.

Ah pregnancy sciatica - I remember it well.... (and not fondly)

Sucks about the diabetes. Do they think it will go away after the baby is born?

Good luck, take it easy and have a beautiful baby. :)

It's supposed to disappear within about 36 hours of giving birth. It does mean I have a higher chance of getting diabetes later in life, and it gives the baby a higher chance of getting diabetes too.

Otherwise, it's been going well.

yeah, I'm expecting it to disappear right after delivery. But for the time being it sucks. :)

So far it isn't too bad, mostly just an annoyance. Glad you are good. :)

Glad it's something manageable, but don't slack off on the monitoring! Are we going to try and do a big "stock the freezer" cooking thing?

I hope the next few weeks fly by. Being huge and not well is not the easiest.

Good luck with everything, sweetie.

This close to your child's probable induced birth date, I expect you may not feel much like celebrating your own natal day tomorrow (and probably aren't allowed to eat cake or ice cream, or any of the sweet treats that go with birthday celebrations), but I wanted to wish you many happy returns of the day, anyway. Hope you're well and that both you and your child will have a healthy and happy delivery later this month.

Thanks Dorothy! I'm not too bad - tired and ready to be done work and start on the whole new type of work. :) I've got to teach tae kwon do tonight, and then I think hubs is taking me out for frozen yogurt. We'll celebrate on the weekend - unless I decide that sleeping is enough of a celebration!

Happy birthday!!! I've been thinking about you the last few days. Hope you and your passenger are doing well, or as well as can be expected this close to term. Sending you all positive wishes, vibes, mojo, and good karma.

I'd offer to kiss the pain better... but I predict objections.

;-)
