For sure, and for so many reasons. If you stick to your words, both good and bad, they know where the boundaries are. But they also know they can trust you in the long run. If I start flaking now, is she going to trust me 15 years from now when she's drunk and alone at a party and needs a ride home?
Maybe, maybe not, but I need to show now and in the future that I'm reliable both in good and bad.
