I've been struggling to find new (or old) fic that is engaging and inspiring.

Have you discovered The English? There is some delicious fic on the two main characters. I fell HARD for that miniseries. I totally recommend it.

Well I have a ton of fic, but half of it is Doctor Who (the other half is Buffy & Angel, so if you want I can link you to my OA3? But then I don't know your preferences...

If you want amazing fic, I would suggest Good Omens, which has the most consistently great fic of any show I have ever been a fan of. (Also only 12 episodes so far)

Doctor Who of course is vast and endless, but if you like Ncuti Gatwa, he is fantastic as the newest Doctor, so you can start there.

*ponders* The Umbrella Academy is engaging and has great world building and fun characters & arcs. I presume the fic is good.

I am missing out so many, but I could keep going... are you looking for something specific?

ETA: Actually what do you like to read? Specific ships, big epic tales, AUs? Do you like characters or worlds? Just to know what to pitch you.

Have you checked out https://quantumbang.org ? Some of it is hit or miss, but there's a solid showing for Stargate, NCIS, and Harry Potter. Not all the fics are good, but some are! Plenty of different pairings and gen work too.

Definitely epics, I like a BAMF main character, especially if there is growth behind them getting there. Generally I"m looking for a purposeful, plot driven story - smut is okay, but not just smut.

I'm a Spuffy shipper, Mal/River, Harry/Hermione (though I'll read a lot of different ships there), Pacey/Joey, Ryan/Summer. I love connections between unexpected characters, broken by different things but stronger together.

When I started reading fic (oh lo those many years ago) I loved cousinjean's fic, I ready everything by enigmaticblue(s) which is how I got into Stargate. I'll go back to wintersong for X-Files fic (I reread The Lost annually).

Life is too busy, and I shall have to go back through my old lists to see what I can find. However, I will cheekily link you to one of my own stories. It's a series, although the stories work independently:

Maybe Someday

The first story is one of the first fics I ever wrote, and is simply a post-NFA short fic.

The second one then evolved from that, and in my head I just refer to it as 'a week of Spuffy'. (There is a lot of plot going on as well, but getting Buffy & Spike back together is the focus.)

The third one is the epic one. Summary: 'Angel, Spike and Illyria go on an epic quest, across untold dimensions, to undo the power of Wolfram & Hart.' I am legit very proud of that one. Lots of plot, lots of character development. I guess at heart it's an attempt at a continuation of the 'verses (both Buffy & Angel).

It may not be your thing, but it would seem to fit your criteria. <3
