She fought grimly; there was no pleasure in the battle, no quips to amuse her audience. In fact, there was no audience, unless you counted the rats that perched atop the dumpster, more interested in what edibles remained in the garbage than the fight.
She distantly remembered enjoying this. There used to be an adrenaline rush, a thrill in the way her body bent and flexed. It used to be a way to work off tension, a chance to chat with Xander and Willow, an opportunity to make Giles proud.
Now it was just another alley.
