I couldn't sleep last night. I was stressed and wired (something about sleeping for 4 hours in the afternoon) so I ended up lying in the hallway, admiring my books and petting the cat.

D was naturally concerned. It was 2:30 am. I usually go to bed by 11 at the latest. We ended up talking, and I finally worked out that I was feeling very unmotivated at work. Aren't we all? I'm just bogged down with enormous projects, all of about the same importance. There's nothing that I can do and actually get a feeling of accomplishment from at work, so I'm unmotivated and that is transferring to being unmotivated at home as well.

To combat this, I'm going to make a short list of major milestones for the next few months, with due dates. Hopefully that will force me to manage my spare time better, instead of just sitting in front of the TV. I'll also make a list of the things that need to get done every week.

Major Accomplishments:

Cross-Stitch Baby Blanket for Leary's - Due end of May
Chapter 8 of Death is Your Gift - Due end of February
Chapter 9 of Death is Your Gift - Due end of March
Chapter 10 of Death is Your Gift - Due end of April
Project Traceability (work) - Due end of February

Weekly To Do List:

clean bathrooms
vacuum floors
scrub floors
take out garbage (Sun)
open_on_sunday drabbles
TKD (Sun & Wed)
Yoga/Pilates (Mon & Fri)
dishes (daily)
laundry
grocery shopping
make supper

No more lazy unmotivation for me!

Edited to add: Is it bad that I feel just making the list is an accomplishment?

Awww, lucky AJ/Trippy/Trance. Which one was it?

AJ. He's been a little bastard ever since we got Trippy's mouth fixed, so we've had to separate them. At first, Trippy stayed with us and the other two had the run of the house, but now Trippy and Trance are together in the basement and AJ is upstairs with us.

We really hope to be able to have all three reintegrated soon - this is getting ridiculous!

Making the list is a /huge/ accomplishment, because it means you've recognized a problem and are taking steps to fix things. That first step can sometimes be the hardest...

go you!

Sunday and Wednesday.

I can only handle one class during the week, given my commute, and I want to take Kyle's class. So, Wednesday.

It might be nice to start a 'done' list to go along with your 'to do' list. That way you can have the tangible reward of transferring an item from the to do list to a list of things you've accomplished. It always makes me smile, especially when I'm feeling really discouraged.

I like crossing things off. Yesterday I bought groceries, picked up stuff at Shoppers, did my Pilates DVD, made and ate supper, did dishes, then watched TV and stitched until 11, when I went to bed. All those things were on my Feb 6 to do list, and they are all crossed off!
