She left LA and left slaying behind.
She was dragged back to it the first day of school.

She ran away from Sunnydale and turned her back on her calling.
She couldn’t turn her back on those in need.

She aced her SATs and found a replacement.
She lost her replacement because evil is easy.

She jumped and died.
She was pulled out of heaven.

She sought death.
She found a reason to live.

She created an army of Slayers. She created a way out.

They offer her a role as their leader, and she leaps at the chance.

Interesting take on the prompt. I really like this picture of Buffy.

Thank you. It felt very true as I wrote it. I really didn't enjoy cutting out the extra 34 words. :P

Excellent! I love the parallels and symmetry you've got going here, as well as the little punch at the end.

Thanks so much. I love doing that sort of call and answer drabble; given the shortened word count, it seems like the formatting can stand in for a lot of exposition.

I love that Buffy created a way out and then leapt at the chance to be leader.

With so few words you painted a thoughtful picture.

Hugs
