How do I go from having totally normal periods to bleeding through a pad, underwear AND jeans at 41? I feel like I'm in highschool again!

Oh, yeah. I stopped with hormonal birthcontrol to lower breast cancer risk.... I miss the pill.

(you probably don't need me to say this but it's my duty): doctor time.

Huh. I hadn't actually thought of that. I've always had 1 day of very heavy periods (except for those 20 years on birth control), so I wasn't actually thinking of that.

I did have an internal ultrasound in Jan and they let me know that 'the cyst had popped an was going away naturally' (they hadn't told me there was a cyst until after the fact), and other than that, everything looked normal. Now I'm suspicious that there may be more cysts...

I've got an appointment on Thursday, I'll mention it then.

Thanks!

That's stressful.

It is! And rather embarassing, at 41.

I definitely dread the hormone fluctuations of menopause, but not having a period sounds awesome. I got 11 months off from it when I was pregnant, but other than that, it's be a regular pain in my tush for 30 year.

This sort of thing is exactly why I am glad extended-cycle birth control exists. :P
