garnigalI was lazy last night, eating supper in front of the TV and just lolling on the couch. Fortunately, last night's TV watching gave me something to think/post about.
First the new Amex ad. You know how they've been doing ads with famous people talking about why they are famous and how Amex lets them do what they need/want? The newest one is starring Mike Lazaridus! Mike L is one of the co-founders of RIM. At first I thought that was pretty cool - hey, CanCon! Then as Mike kept talking, I thought please make this smug, annoying man shut up. My last thought as it faded to black was "who payed for this ad? Did RIM pay AMEX or did AMEX pay Mike? It's advertising for both!"
Second, I saw the S3 promo for The O.C. I know, I'm too (old, educated, intelligent...) to watch the OC, but they are pretty and I'm like them! Anyway, my first thought was Yay! only 8 more sleeps to the new OC! My second thought was all those haitus fic writers are going to be so frustrated that their well-thought out guesses are wrong.
Oh well. Almost to the new season. New TV!
