Is it a bad sign (of arrogance and a complete lack of touch with reality) that when I go back and read some of my old stories I'm impressed by my own talents?

Jeez, I'm self satisfied.

I knocked it out of myself by going back and reading some of my university essays. No wonder I can't get into a Master's program!
