Previously in this space, I complained about my new job. Well, another couple of weeks into it, I guess it's not that bad. I still want to be independently wealthy and not have to work at all, but it could be worse. \

I've finally gotten to the point where I get almost enough sleep at night. I'm still exhausted by TKD on Mon and Wed, but this week I'm going to change my schedule and work 9-6 on Mon, rather than 8-5. I get to sleep in on Monday, when I really need it, and there's less time between work and TKD. It means I have to pack two meals for eating at work, but I can live with that (especially if I go the expensive but fast route and eat Michelina's).

I've started commuting with Dee-Anne on Tues, Wed and Thurs, so I don't have to drive as much. Saves gas for each of us, saves wear and tear, saves us being so exhausted that we crash. All good things.

The people hear are nice, eventually. It seemed to take a long time for them to warm up to me, but now I can't get them to shut up. (Author's Note: I had some specific and unflattering descriptions in here. Suddenly, I remembered Dooce. If you want to know what this originally said, email or call. Soon. My memory just isn't that good.)

The job is still pretty dull, which can work in my favour. I can whip up what they want pretty quick, once they get me the info. So I spend my day surfing the web, updating my journal, reading journals, and working on my fic. I've signed up for National Novel Writing Month this year, and hopefully I'll be able to work on it at least a bit at work.

Money. Money is good. Money keeps a roof over my head, food in my tummy and new books on my shelves. (I keep spelling in Mondy - an evil cross between money and Monday)

I finally remembered to bring headphones to work, so I can listen to music. Added benefit - turn the music loud enough, and it drowns out my neighbour.

So, it's not as bad as my earlier post suggested. I was just being a drama queen.

I'm ready for my close up, Mister De Mille.

You could be working next too a certain hand-lotion-hating, extremely sensitive young man that Dee-Ann and maes and whatawookie have all worked with in the past :-)

... who uses a, b, and t as undocumented variables in production code that I had to help debug in the middle of a 5am maintenance when it was discovered that a certain person's code was segfaulting on a major client's network...
