One of our female developers was looking for my boss when he was at lunch, so I told her I'd let him know when he got back. He walks in and I say, "P was looking for you."

Then I said, "I was going to say that P wanted you, but I didn't want to give you the wrong impression." (I know, bad, old joke, but it still gets a laugh)

So he laughs, and says, "I'm so glad they hired you. This place would be so dull and boring without you," ending with, "the excitement that you provide is unequaled."

Wow. If that's their high spot, I'm saddened. I too find you entertaining, but we probably cover a lot more humor territory in a day than that :-/

I think it's more a matter of I'm the one who always has something mouthy to say.

Eh, they are easily entertained.

You are "unequaled" That is a nice compliment, even if the joke is an old one. ;)

Better than the aspersions he was casting upon my character on Monday.

I told them about my interviews (let's just say it was... casual. We talked about fanfiction!) and my boss says, "so, just what is the connection between you and S? (former veep who interviewed me)"

"There isn't one! Why, what have you heard?"

Instant backpedalling.

:grins: Of course they're glad they hired you! You rock, miss.

Just so you know. =)

If only I could get paid for just being entertaining, instead of also having to do all this work.

How cool is that! Maybe a 14 hour drive won't be so long after all :o)

And if you don't like what I'm saying, you can put the roof down so you can't hear me! It's the grown up version of sticking your fingers in your ears and going "la la la la!"

Or we could put the top down, turn the radio up really, really loud and sing... annoying everyone around us!

I was figuring we'd do that anyway! Incidentally, what kind of music do you like? I'll start downloading onto my laptop asap!

Hmm... I like all different types. 80's rock. Top 40 stuff. Some country.

What do you like?

I tend to listen to mostly new country, but lately I've been all about the 80's. Not 80's country - it mostly sucked. Stuff like Blondie, Foreigner, Live, Journey, Stones. I also try to add a fair amount of Can-con to my listening - Sarah McLachlan, Great Big Sea, Bare Naked Ladies, Tragically Hip. I also love "oldies" - Beach Boys, Beatles, Harry Chapin, Simon and Garfunkle, Carol King.

I listen to Yahoo radio at work, and if I like a song I write it down so I remember it.

I think our musical tastes sound compatible.

An ex boyfriend bought me a few Hip CD's. Actually went and saw them in concert. They're pretty good.

So glad you live in a border state - you actually know what I'm talking about when I mention the Hip. I saw them at an outdoor concert a few years ago. It was a huge event - the closing acts were BNL and Brooks and Dunn.

What a trio! They're all different.

There were something like 20 acts that day. It was an amazing concert. It was the Watershed festival - in support of Walkerton, which had had a very serious e.coli breakout a couple of years earlier.

2000 people were sick, a bunch of kids were hospitalized, and 12 people died. It was pretty terrible - but ended up in a couple of great concerts.

So I just want you to know, that we want you to take good care of garnigal when you have her in your country. Or else.

I figure since her brother is younger, someone has to be over-protective.

No worries. She's in good hands! Besides, with her skills, she could kick my bootie if she wanted to :o)

Damn I wish my email had been up earlier so I could have seen this. I totally cracked up.

My friends are so over protective. Hee.

whatawookie and saratinia were the first people (besides D) that I told about the trip. You should have seen the looks on their faces as I described the trip.

They are just the tiniest bit paranoid. But, whatawookie is a mom - her protective instinct is very high. And saratinia is a very good auntie to whatawookie's kids - and, apparently, me.

My Mom and my aunts's weren't that worried about it when I told them!

I'll get the worried looks closer to the date I'm actually leaving.

I got the strangest looks when I told them I'm spending that much time in a car with someone I've never met. That entire arching an brow thing.

"How do you know you'll get along?"

How do I know we won't!

Exactly! I mean, at this point, I talk to you more than I do my own family. Granted it's in writing rather than in person or on the phone, but still!

Now that is funny. I'm sure you put the fear of God in mich.

And my brother keeps introducing me to his friends as his little sister since I'm so short, so I guess he's a little protective. Naturally, I counter with a baby brother crack.

I hate being short.
