Music Weekend

I've had a crazy weekend in terms of free music. I went out to dinner in TO with D and a couple of his friends from the UK, and when we came out, Beyonce was giving a free concert at Yonge-Dundas Square. How random!

Then on Monday, D called to say he had two tickets to see Corb Lund and I should come home early. Mote and I went to the concert at Club Vinyl in Guelph and it was excellent.

I'm a whole lot countrier than I thought - I far preferred Corb Lund to Beyonce. Fame means nothing to me - sing me a story about your truck getting stuck any day of the week!

We squeezed into the crowd at Yonge-Dundas and watched until her set was over. We missed the first little bit, and we were way at the back, but it was really neat.

It is time - that was his final song of the night. Naturally, I've had it stuck in my head ever since! Good thing I like it, eh?

Heh, true enough. I am more of a country gal though. My folks were horrified that raising us on the farm apparently meant that Mikey and I collected Little Texas, JoDee Messina and Garth Brooks cd. Mikey out grew it though - he's mostly alt-rock now.

I'm still country to the core.
