Or What I Should Be Doing This Week

One of my 'resolutions' this year was to actually write on a regular basis (like, an hour a day Monday to Friday). Like all of my resolutions, I haven't quite committed to it yet. In other words... yeah, not happening so much. Meh, I'm laid back. I know what my goal is, and I'll keep trying to rearrange my life to work it in.

In order to help me keep this resolution, I joined tamingthemuse. I figured weekly prompts and deadlines would keep me inspired. Then I looked at my Project Paranormal schedule and realized I've got a story due for them on Saturday (for the forum to look at and edit - I love the Project Paranormal forum. So helpful!)

So this week I need to write at least 1 fire drabble for open_on_sunday (gotta post it tonight), a kleptomaniac story (fandom or original) for taming the muse (gotta post it by Saturday, I think) and a Project Paranormal story to be posted to the forum on Saturday.

I may have bitten off more than I can type.

If it wasn't for the communities and the prompts, I don't think I'd write anything. I like the Project because we have to clear the story ideas with the season founders (it's a virtual season of Buffy, post Not Fade Away, all Bangel). They are great at helping winnow out the best ideas.

If you can fit kleptomaniac into the Paranormal story, taming the muse would be fed at the same time!

I'm starting with treasure hunters in the Project Paranormal story... that's kind of like stealing.

Unfortunately, I can't post the PP story until it goes up on the Blood Roses Project Paranormal site on the 27th. I'm thinking of doing something Firefly for taming the muse. Something about kleptomaniac makes me think of my favourite pirates.

Yeah, I kind of shot myself in the butt this week. (Hee, funny mental image. Avoiding cliches is hard!) I thought I had until the 27th for the PP story, and my original story idea would have had too much of an impact on future story lines, so I had to come up with a new idea. This one is pretty fun to write, though.
