I'm incredibly goofy.

Yesterday I got involved in this very long series of back and forth comments over LJ. It was fun, and we seem to have a lot in common, but also a lot of differences. She friended me, I friended her - I feel like I'm ten years old and just got a friendship bracelet from one of the popular girls.

When I got home after Tae Kwon Do, I told D. all about my "new friend". I caught him giving me odd looks (how many friends have you made over the internet, buddy? dozens, easily! This is just my second.) But I don't care. Talking to different people was the whole point of this journal (and a place to find/post Buffy fanfic) and it's exciting that it actually worked.

Anyway, just wanted to share my goofiness and childishness with the world and to say hi to my new friend!

And now, back to my regularly scheduled (adult) life.

Whee! New Friend!
(you like Buffy too? Tonight I'm starting a Buffy RPG, and I get to play a Slayer [post season-7]) Whee!

oh that's so cool. T. has been teasing me for ages with planning a Buffy RPG, but so far we haven't had time for everyone to get together.

Well, this one is running ever-ee-other-week opposite a d&d type game sans magic.
My Slayer was taking chem courses at the local looney-versity and trying to decide if she wanted to go in for food science or not when the slayer-wake-up-call happened. Heh. "Did not see coming" is an understatement. As for other pc types, all I know is 'zombie' (to make the DM happy; Jay loves his zombies), 'demon' (possibly ex-demon, not sure), and a watcher. There may be another Slayer in the party, or maybe a scoobie type.
Heh. I know what you mean about finding the time. The Buffy game brings my total RPGs to five (each running opposite weeks), with the possibility of a sixth.
And I'm still a Brownie Leader (and unit treasurer).
Silly, silly me. :-)

oh my god. the games sound like so much fun (I've never gamed), but where do you find the time? Between Tae Kwon Do 3 times a week and just trying to keep my life in order, I don't feel like I have any spare time.

you'd like Jay...

If you can get time, garnigal, check out the game. Jay's pretty okay as a GM. And I could give you all the dirt on the other players ;-)

ooh, gossip, always a wonderful thing. BTW, what is your email addy? I'm assuming your work one is expired? You need info on the next book club gathering.

You could? And who may you be (or be not)? Besides a wookie, which is obvious...
:)
(in other words, do I know you? and from where? brain not so good today, so help is appreciated)

I don't Tae-Kwon-Do. ;)
Nor do I have a partner that I need to spend time with, and my standards of apartment maintenance are 'lax'.
Games are not just fun for playing, but also an excuse to get my butt out of the apartment and spend time with my friends and be sociable. ;) (They're all gamer geeks like me)
Right now I play every Sunday night (one game one week, the other the next), every Thursday (ditto), and every other Friday. The possible game will make that every Friday night (with the game switch thing). Its manageable. Plus, if other stuff comes up (a non-gaming party, parental stuff, a play, Oscar night), the game gets bumped. Just not indefinately. :)
If I didn't communte an hour to and from work, I'd also be back doing volunteer work at the Humane Society. I like to keep my evenings full.
See, when I am home, I watch waaaaaaay too much t.v. I should write or do something creative, but the magic box with the pretty moving pictures is just too damn mesmerizing... it helps if I'm not there to watch it.
:D

I should have been more specific. By "keeping my life in order", I mean making sure I didn't miss any of my favorite shows. Why is TV so addictive? Do they put nicotine or cocaine or something in it?

Nope. It just stimulates all the parts of your brain that like getting stroked but don't like working.
(tee hee, I saw his bum...) ;)

Oh, and I have some questions on tech writing (that's what you do, right? did I remember that right?) I'm thinking about career-switching and trying to research various alternatives to what I do now, vs. my skill set and personality traits, and then trying to figure out how much more education I need. :)

Good memory! I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you have about tech writing. You can either ask here, or email or phone, whatever is easiest for you.

Thank you! I will send questions when the brain is operational again. Only 1/2 hr to go. I can make it...

Wow!
