You know how when you blow your nose really hard, you can feel the pressure on the back of your eyes? Well, apparently, your orbital bones can separate, leaving a gap. And if you blow your nose hard when you have this gap (especially if you use the 'farmer blow' technique of covering one nostril and getting as much distance from the other as possible), instead of coming out your nose - mucus will spray out your tear duct and hit the inside of your sunglasses. Scaring the hell out of you, 'cause you think your eye just exploded. My brother has now learned to 1) blow his nose gently and 2) keep his eyes closed.

Told you it was gross.

I knew you'd read it! Isn't that fantastic? I can't stop laughing when I think about the look he must have had on his face.

It's like that myth about the woman who got hit in the head by an exploding canister of dinner roll dough and thought her brains were leaking out.

Is that the most awful thing? Adam tells a good story though.

Sorry. :) I did post a fair warning though. Everytime I picture the look on Adam's face as he saw the big glob on his sunglasses. :)

It's a story that really must be told over and over. The listeners' reactions have been worth telling it over and over.

That's a good point. How many times do you have to get hit in the head to move your orbital bones?

That's AWESOME.

Did I tell you I drained my sinuses once and the shit coming out of them was freaking green?

Is that the most horrifyingly awesome story ever? I snicker every time I picture Adam's face the first time it happened.

Ahh, family.

Adam's a pretty good storyteller, and I'm still snickering as I think about it.

The best part is, I know his wife laughed at him. :)
