Joining the Ranks

As of about 10 am, I have joined the ranks of the unemployed. I'm assured it's a temporary lay-off, but I'll believe that when I see it. So far, D's found me 6 or 7 jobs to apply to and I've started on the resume updating/restructuring.

Last time this happened it took about 3 months to find something, but I have another 5 years of experience since then. So I'm trying to keep positive and look at this as an opportunity for something really interesting.

Thanks. I'm a tech writer in the software industry. The company I worked for specialized in graphics software for avionics, so the market downturn hit pretty hard, and we were struggling even before that.

Hopefully it is temporary, but I agree that it's best to plan for the worse case and hope for the best case.
