I mentioned the KW Nano get together in passing in my previous entry, but I wanted to get into more detail. I had a great time and so did D. He mentioned on our way out that he looked at the time around 2:10 and thought "time could really pass quickly having a conversation like this", looked down again and it was 2:15.

I'm looking forward to working in the challenge you set for me; D. actually gave me some good ideas how to fit it in. (I should give him co-writer credit!) It was also good hearing that rockinkitty is in the same low word count boat that I am! Yay! Everybody's novels sound really interesting and readable, I'm so impressed by everyone. It feels like just hanging out with you people brought my own talent up a couple of notches.

Getting together really inspired me - I feel like I want to write again. I was a little down because of my low count, but I'm going to try and do something about that today.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again; I'm keeping my eyes on the forums for info on the write-in. I'm going to keep trying to go to both KW and Guelph - everyone I've met is just so awesome, I don't want to miss a thing.

Screw the novel, let's just party for the month!

I'm actually kind of sad I missed the meet up yesterday; I got the message saying 'come to this place at this time' about an hour to late to get there. :P I hope to make the Guelph half-way meet on the 16th though!
I haven't posted any novel excerpts yet. I'm too nervous. I have a feeling if I knew somebody was reading it I'd get hung up with the editing and such and have no more progress.

It was really good - lots of "shop talk"; the sort of stuff only writers think to ask about. In truth, it was things I hadn't thought of until I was asked. D and I talked about it on the way home - even though it's "strangers", we share the same vocabulary - same location and Nano.

They are trying to do a write-in on the 14th at the same place and time. I'm going to be there too - it'll help me hit my goals for the 16th!

A write-in sounds cool. I won't make the 14th - its my mom's birthday and that takes precedence over EVERYTHING, even the Universe collapsing. *grin*
And as for hanging out with 'strangers' - sometimes its the only way to expand your circle of friends. :)

Tell your mother that all the Nanoers the world over are wishing her a happy birthday - it really does take precedence over the Universe collapsing (maybe not making your daily word count though). My mother turns 50 in April - I've got to start planning now, or I won't live to see 30. :)
You are right about the expanding your circle of friends. Making friends as an adult is different than the school friends. Before it was all about proximity (it's still that way at work), but now that I'm out of school I'm trying to find people with the same interests. Nano has been great for that.

I was happy to see you again on Sunday! D is cool. You're right-writers feel comfortable with one another. And what cool ideas for stories-autobiographies and mobs!! I've figured out how to get the floppy cows into my story :)

I have the next 2.5 days off, starting at 11pm...so I'm going to get some serious writing in. I am exicted!!!

Don't worry about your word count being low. Some days inspiration will hit and you will spill out 5G without thinking about it. I won't be able to meet you all on Sunday, but I'll be thinking of you all.
